Playing Santa

So this year we got the opportunity to help play Santa. We had friends with kids ask to use our house to store the Santa gifts. Also because we have our Expedition we offered to go and drop off the gifts after the kids all went to bed. One mother asked if she gave us the money we could go and pick out bikes for her kids. We have a big enough car that we could bring them back. So tonight we loaded up 3 bikes and delivered them to the home of 3 boys who thought that they had opened all their Christmas presants Christmas Eve. It was so fun to sneak up to the house whispering and quietly putting the bikes in the living room.
After that adventure, we got to help move some of the gifts for another family into the car so they could be taken home and put together.
Even though we don't have our own kids to be Santa for, we have had so much fun getting to help make kids excited. I'm thankful for friends that let us be apart of their kids lives.

Snow Day

So we got a couple of snow days here in the Mojave desert. It was amazing. Wednesday afternoon it started snowing and they told everyone at NASA to go home at noon. It was just starting to stick when we got home. It snowed solidly until probably 10pm and with the 4 inche of accumulation they canceled school and also work on Thursday because the Air Force base was closed. When we woke up in the morning we heard the neighbor kids playing in the snow with their cousins, so we got dressed and snuck around the house and blasted them with snow balls. It was great. Our cat Sunny didn't like the snow very much. Travis threw him outside in it and he just meowed until Travis picked him up and brought him back inside. I think my favorite thing about the snow is that it is all melted by today and I know that it probably won't happen for another 8 years!! I sure don't miss the long snowy winters!!

Grandma's Birthday

It's my grandma's 76Th birthday today. That makes me sad. She is in a home, which is the best place for her to be, but because she has Alzheimer's there really isn't a way to call her and wish her a happy birthday. Even to send a card is a little silly because she can't open mail, can't read, and can't understand even if someone reads it to her. It makes me wonder what Gods purpose is keeping her shell here when her mind and soul are gone. Just some sad thoughts.....

Benifits of my Job

So this morning as I was headed into work, I got to see a most wonderous sight. The Space Shuttle Endevour loaded on top of a 747 taking off from the runway that runs right behind my building at work. We missed the landing last weekend, but we were allowed to get up close and take pictures this week while they worked on it for it's return flight. I will try and attach pictures with this post, but I have a really slow connection and it doesn't always work. I love working for NASA!!!!

Infertiltiy

So yesterday we had our first appt with our new Infertility Dr. Travis had to miss coaching in an important basketball game, but he was there. After taking a look at my x-ray's from my Hystosopingogram (?) he said that I have some extra tissue in my uterus, but he's not too worried, because right now I am not even ovulating. So since the Clomid didn't work, he is going to move on to the shots. I can't remember the drug name, you'd think I could after working in a pharmacy for 7 years, but all I can remember is it starts with an "F". He said that he is pretty confident that this should work so all we can do is wait and see. I won't actually start the drug until after the holiday's. He said that he will try and keep the multiple birth chance down to twins for us. We asked that since we both have twins that run in the family if that will increase also. I guess that we will just catch up with everybody with one try :)

Thankful

I am so thankful for technology. I have loved keeping up with my many friends on their blogs and decided that as much as I love reading about their happenings, they might want to read about mine. So we are going to start this blog thing and see how it goes. This picture is of Travis and I taken last week at Red Rocks just North West of our house. We were scouting out family picture sites for a photo shoot we have in a couple of weeks.
